The American Childhood Cancer Organization (ACCO) is one of the largest national grassroots organizations at the forefront of the battle against childhood cancer. Founded by parents with firsthand experience navigating the oftentimes confusing and overwhelming world of childhood cancer, and joined by a national community of families and survivors, the ACCO mission is built upon four foundational objectives: Improving the quality of life for children with cancer and their families. Providing the necessary support to childhood cancer survivors suffering from the long-term side effects ("late effects") associated with many childhood cancer treatments. Increasing public awareness regarding the crucial need for the development of effective treatments that are safe and appropriate for cancer's youngest warriors. Collaborating with corporations and other non-profits to find innovative ways to spread awareness and raise funds for further childhood cancer treatment research.
